The Tank Management System is an application-based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) software product for tank farms. It provides users the ability to visualize tanks parameters and to manage operations safely and efficiently in time. Combining comprehensive process capability, ease of use, powerful calculating techniques and real-time communication, it is a complete solution to precisely measure the level and mass of valuable products such as petroleum and chemicals in all conditions and to prevent scraps and downtime during operation - all leading to higher profits. It enables users to integrate all major types of tank relevant devices and instruments, including float, radar, servo, hydrostatic, and magnetostrictive tank gauges, into one system.
The Tank Management System can operate on a single PC, or as a part of a network. The application can be run on Windows NT/2000 or Windows95/98 operating systems. In addition, the system can be networked with other PC or Host Computer systems.
A variety of information such as levels, temperatures, pressures, and flows can be obtained by continuous scanning of outputs of field transmitters installed to collect real-time data. Other information is calculated automatically by using these data in compliance with ASTM and API tables, stored by default. Tank tables, and operation and system data are all setup based on the application.
The Tank Management System enables the operator to view the current status of tanks in different modes : Tank detail, Large character, Group, Multi-group. Group product levels are also displayed in bargraph format.
The system provides the ability to control and monitor all movements, variables, and alarms during a transfer operation. The transfer display enables an operator to view flow rate, expected finishing time of the transfer, and all other relevant data belonging to the tank in transfer mode .
Six pre-set standard tank reports exist in the system. Historical or summary tank data can be reported. Shift-change reports are printed automatically to show the current status at the beginning of the shift. Report management is possible by setting up different print times.
The Tank Detail screen gives the operator relevant operational information about an individual tank. Data are listed below :
