SMART CARD
In a health insurance application in Dubai, a smartcard with fingerprint validation is used to confirm personal data and security at 700 different points (hospital, doctor’s office, polyclinic) with 65,000 cards.
Stored on the card are the patient’s last 3 doctor visits, his/her test results, diagnosis, the medicine used, and technical information, all of which can be learned without checking with headquarters. Any new results can also be loaded to the smartcard with this system simply by connecting it to a PC.
